Livable Landscapes Map Unveiled
The centerpiece of the County’s policy plan, Landscapes, is a map entitled "Livable Landscapes for Chester County". This map depicts the location of designated growth and preservation areas within Chester County.
In recognition of the diversity of our county, the map is divided into a series of landscape types which depict areas of the County based on their distinguishing characteristics. Landscape types include the four original Rural, Suburban, Urban, and Natural landscapes and the introduction of the Agricultural landscape in western Chester County. The map also recognizes areas of the County that include resources of national significance, including Valley Forge National Historic Park, Brandywine Battlefield Landmark, and the Hopewell Big Woods.
The Chester County Planning Commission invites you to review the draft map, land use policies, and landscape descriptions on-line and offer your comments at www.landscapes2.org.

Land Use Policies are now ready for your comments. Use the Public Comment website to review and weigh in on Plan material as it is drafted.
DVRPC Announces Land-Use Management Program — Grants provided through PennDOT will go through DVRPC to municipalities working on access-management plans, transit feasibility studies, mixed-use ordinances and other planning projects. Any township or borough seeking a grant from the EGGS (Efficient Growth for Growing Suburbs) Program can get up to $60,000. Joint projects undertaken by two or more municipalities may receive up to $100,000.

Farmer of the Year and Distinguished Service to Agriculture Awards — The Board of Chester County Commissioners and the Chester County Agricultural Development Council (ADC) present two annual awards, Farmer of the Year and Distinguished Agricultural Service.
