Plan Philly: Informative excerpts from recent Urban Land Institute symposium on the future of urban development and revitalization. The symposium was the first of its kind sponsored by the Urban Land Institute's Philadelphia regional chapter. The presentations (see video clips) by keynote speaker Christopher Leinberger, a land use strategist who is the director of the graduate real estate development program at the University of Michigan and a native of this region provided useful insights into past and emerging trends.. "The market demand pendulum has swung away from the “drive-able suburban” model that's been popular since World War II and toward a “walk-able urban” model", said Leinberger, who is currently a Brookings Institution visiting fellow.
County's plan for land use taking a tour. The plan features several refinements and updates to Landscapes, the County's 10 year old land-use plan. It was presented to small crowds of municipal officials by Ronald Bailey, Executive Director of the Chester County Planning Commission.
PA named third in nation for green jobs —
The green workforce is still in its infancy, but Pennsylvania has already hit its growth spurt, and many believe it could last for decades. Pennsylvania ranked third, behind only California and Texas, in clean energy jobs.

Pennsylvania, New York City and other states in the Delaware River Basin, have reached two agreements regarding the plan that safeguards the drinking water supply for 15M people and supports the basin's diverse wildlife habitat. The Flexible Flow Management Program governs New York City and Delaware Basin reservoir diversions and releases under the terms of a 1954 U.S. Supreme Court decree.
