Chester County has made a strong commitment to the preservation of agricultural and other open space lands. Preserved open space provides numerous benefits to local communities, neighborhoods, and businesses. There are also many environmental benefits, including conservation of resources and habitat protection. However, recent land development trends have reduced the amount of land available for preservation. Landscapes2 will attempt to balance the continuing growth in the county with long term land preservation goals.
