The Process Began by Getting Everyone Involved
The first phase of updating Landscapes, the County’s comprehensive plan, involved a series of activities designed to obtain public perception of planning issues facing Chester County. The concerns and issues facing individuals, business and institutions in Chester County will serve as a guide for the plan update effort. This fact-finding initiative included: An online public opinion survey; Focus group meetings; and Regional meetings with municipal and school district leaders.
Survey
The 2007 public opinion survey for Landscapes2 has been completed and tallied. Over 8,000 responses were received from all over the County. The survey identified a clear set of issues that is important to the public. Read the results ...
Focus Groups
The Chester County Planning Commission performed a series of 12 focus group sessions during the first quarter of 2007 to discover planning that should be considered during the update to Landscapes. Focus group sessions included specific interest groups to gain their perspective on planning issues. This report summarizes the findings of the focus group meetings. (PDF, 629 Kb)
Steering Committee
