A Renewed Call to Action

Chester County is at a critical point in its history. We must make a choice for our future. We can let the unsustainable development pattern of the past continue, or we can choose to work together toward a new pattern of development that preserves the unique character of Chester County.
Chapter 1 of the comprehensive policy plan, Landscapes2, outlines how the Board of County Commissioners and the Chester County Planning Commission plan to address growth management and preservation strategies in collabotration with public, private and corporate citizens.
Introducing the Plan

Chapter 2 provides an overview of the comprehensive policy plan and its organization in the form of:
- A Renewed Vision for Our Future...
- Landscapes Initiatives for Change
- Structure of the Plan
- Guiding Goals; and
- Priority Actions for Plan Implementation
Mapping the Plan, The Livable Landscapes Map
Chapter 3 introduces the revised Livable Landscapes Map, that reflects the updates adopted in comprehensive policy plan. In addition to the Map the chapter describes:
- How the map was created
- Growth Areas
- Rural Resource Areas; and
- Overlay Features
Plan Elements (Chapters 4 - 14)

The remainder of the chapters in the comprehensive policy plan contain a series of planning elements as listed in the left panel of this web page. on plan elements is contained in the Structure of the Plan within chapter2.
Other Formats
In additioin to the Flipbook format, the Plan is also available as PDF, Mobi and ePub formats. The Mobi format is intended to be viewed with a Kindle eReader while the ePub format can be viewed in numerous other eReaders.
